Suzin (Porter) Fowler has been busy. She’s half way through her Respiratory Therapy Program; she’s scheduled to graduate next May. Also Suzin and her husband Todd just bought the house they’ve been living in for the last three years. And, as if that’s not enough, they’re adding a new ankle biter, as Suzin says, to their family. Their son Kamerin is looking forward to the arrival of a new brother or sister (Suzin says they’re not peeking) on September 27.
Speaking of September 27, Julie (Miller) Casey and her husband, Dan, will be leaving for Maui that day, which is their first wedding anniversary, to celebrate on the tropical island. By that time Julie will also have started her new job as an Insurance Policy Officer with the California Department of Insurance. She’ll be leaving State Compensation Insurance Fund the end of this month or beginning of September after six and a half years.
And while we’re on the topic of new jobs. Heather Hessel left her management position in the Information Technology Department of the William Morris Agency to pursue teaching. Early this month she started teaching fourth grade at the 49th Street Elementary school in the LA Unified School District. Heather’s already making plans for her first summer vacation: a road and canoe trip.
Aaron Smith also recently changed careers. He just started working in the investment industry. Aaron says hi to everyone and says he misses everyone.
Julie’s not the only one going to Hawaii, June Jeong and her boyfriend are also traveling to Maui next month.
Akira Shimizu also sends his best wishes to the class and a special hello to John Hussong. Akira is currently working for German Lufthansa Cargo AG as a Business Development Coordinator in the Marketing Department of the Tokyo branch office.
Victor Humphries participated in a renaissance faire in July and had a scare when he landed on the "pointy-end" of his sword while performing.
April Bennett has fully relocated back to her home town of San Diego and will start working at Bergerner Academy in the Oceanside Unified School District later this month.
And for those of you who remember Scott Magboo, he’s back in touch. Scott is living in Guam and working on his Bachelor’s degree in Commutations
Melvin Rivera married Elaine on April 12, 1998. Rumor has it James Holland also recently wed. Wendy (Pinner) and Shaun Bertoli are expecting their first baby on November 10. Melanie (Whitaker) and Michael Battistone are also expecting their first child.

Newsletter Gets A Facelift

ou might have noticed that the newsletter has a new look. That’s because the publisher and her husband got a new computer earlier this year. The new set-up includes a scanner which means you can submit vacation pictures, baby pictures, etc. to be including in the newsletters.Also, don’t forget to keep Julie updated with your news: weddings, additions to the family, graduation from a school or entering a new program, job changes, address updates, etc. Much thanks to those of you who have submitted information.
